Who am I anyway?

Hillary Boyd wasn't always one of those fancy-schmancy sophisticated New Yorkers that glares at passing tourists. She made her life debut on the plains of the Texas Panhandle, where she grew up in the great town of Amarillo, TX. After some positive feedback on a class project from Mrs. Jacobs, her Theatre Arts teacher, she decided to dedicate her life to THE STAGE. This included auditioning for her very first musical ever at the local community theater, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. And voila! She was subsequently cast in the role of Children's Chorus.

That performance led to many others, and eventually she earned a B.A. in Theatre Performance from Baylor University in Waco, TX (Sic 'em Bears!). It was during her time at Baylor that Hillary began to pair her love of musical theatre with her newfound love of cabaret. In her senior year, Hillary performed her very first one-woman cabaret, titled Make Him Mine: A Broadway Tribute to Finding Mr. Right. She also learned that potential "Mr. Rights" rarely attend cabarets.

After college, Hillary did what most young performers do - moved to Las Vegas! Unfortunately, the demand for modestly-clothed showgirls was in rapid decline. The move proved to be fortuitous, however, when she began to take classes with The Second City and Improv Vegas. Soon she was bitten by the improv bug, and began performing regularly on several long form teams. Additionally, she developed her second solo cabaret I Put the "Sing" in Single!

With Sin City firmly under her belt, Hillary decided to pursue her long-time dream of moving to New York City. She continued her study of improv, acting, musical theatre, and comedy. Her cabaret stylings have been featured at such clubs as The Duplex and Birdland. She also adopted an older cat named Mr. Braverman, who is "the cutest little mister you would ever want to kiss and cuddle." She has yet to break the news to him that she takes acting jobs on the side, in addition to being his full-time caretaker, secretary, and massage therapist.

Currently, she performs at theaters both regionally and in NYC. She is in development on her own comedy web-series titled 101 Ways to Meet Your Soul Mate, as well as a few other writing projects. She continues to pursue all her passions--theater, singing, comedy, cabaret, and TV/film. And, of course, being a personal assistant to the most demanding (yet wonderful) cat ever.
